Manor Way is a highly regarded crescent shaped road situated off Woodcote Valley Road, which in turn connects Foxley Lane (A2022) and Smitham Bottom Lane (A237). The heart of Purley's Town Centre is only a matter of about 600 yards away, where a variety of local shops can be found which includes: a Tesco Superstore; a main Post Office; a library; and many other independent retailers, restaurants and pub's etc.

Regular 'bus services connect the neighbouring towns and villages, including Croydon Town Centre which is just three miles to the north. Purley also benefits from an excellent 24 hours-a-day railway service from Purley Station, with regular services into Central London via East Croydon, and to the Sussex Coast via Redhill and Gatwick Airport, as well as other suburban branch line services.

Purley is well served by both state and independent schools for all ages including Woodcote, Lodge, John Fisher, Wallington High School for Girls and Wilson's. There is an array of leisure facilities including various members' sports clubs, gym's and golf clubs etc. Also for rural walks, various open spaces can be reached within just two or three miles.

The Webb Estate made headlines in a 2002 survey, which found that it had over the years attracted the highest-earning residents in the UK.

The CR8 postal district was named in 2003 as having the highest average earning residents in the UK.
